Gujiya
Gujiya is a popular North Indian sweet that is made especially at the time of holi.
Steps:
- Take Wheat Flour + maida + 1/4th tablespoon salt
- Heat 2 tablespoon Dairy Barn Organic Ghee in a small pan or bowl
- Pour the ghee on the flour mix
- Rub the flour mix with your fingertips so that you obtain bread crumb like texture
- Add ½ cup water in parts and knead the flour mix. Add the water as per requirement.
- Cover the dough with a moist cloth and let it settle for 30 minutes
Steps to make stuffing:
- Chop 1/3rd cup dry fruits
- Melt ½ tablespoon Dairy Barn Ghee on pan at a low flame
- Add one cup crumbled Khoya and stir it till it becomes a whole part
- After it cools down add 1/3rd cup of powder sugar, chopped dry fruits and 1/2 spoon cardamom powder and mix it well. Add sugar if needed.
Final Assembly
- Divide the dough into small parts. Roll the balls and make small circles of 5 inches diameter.
- Place the gujiya stuffing inside the flat dough and carefully close the stuffing by packing the dough.
- Trim the extra edges of the gujiya using the trimmer.
- Add sufficient amount of Dairy Barn A2 Ghee in a pan and let it heat well.
- Slide the gujiya into the pan and fry them carefully.
- Once the color turns brown take out the gujiya’s and drain them on kitchen tissues.
- Serve the delicious Gujiyas.
